March Closet Additons

Even while my total for this month is about average, hovering around $200, I definitely feel like I spent more than I should have, and I honestly have no justification for the thing I spent the most on, the Banana Republic maxi dress. I got it at a good discount, but that is besides the point. When am I going to wear this dress?

I also went into TJMaxx knowing I had a gift card, but overspent there too, coming home with three pieces instead of the one the gift card covered. The black top in the image below is actually a stand-in for the dress I got. It looks exactly the same, just longer. I could only find the top on their website, but this is what the dress looks like on.

Thyme & Honey French Terry Balloon Sleeve Dress, $25 at TJMaxx
Cupio Gingham Tie Front Dress, $30 at TJMaxx (a couple sizes here)
Fit and Flare Maxi Dress, $56 at Banana Republic
High Rise Button Fly Jeans, $34 at Gap
Sculpt True Skinny Jeans, $23 at Gap
Cascade Ruffle Sleeve Blouse, $15 at Ann Taylor
Nanette by Nanette Lepore Ruffle Bottom Pants, $20 at TJMaxx
Silk Floral Scarf, $15 at Ann Taylor

  1. Every month, I am amazed by the amount of pieces that you manage to acquire for $200. You always make me think I should shop smarter - except that I don't really need to bring in any more pieces than I already do. I'm not sure where you're going to wear that dress, but it is beautiful, so I can understand why you bought it, anyway :)

  4. Yes, but that dress! It's so pretty--and the color is gorgeous. I can't wait to see how you style it. The jeans are great staples and you got some other really pretty things too. I love the sleeves of that pink blouse.

  5. I’m guilty of overspending this month too after quite a dry spell. It’s so hard to not shop when Spring arrives! It’s such a fun season to shop for :)

  6. I do the same thing all the time. But truly, I rationalize that it's better than alcohol or drugs, right?
And I want some of those ruffle bottom pants!! I've looked a couple of places, but can't find my size (without spending an arm & leg)!!

  7. You manage to get so many lovely pieces for the money you spend. And that maxi dress is gorgeous! With the weather warming up you will have lots of opportunity to wear it - I see it casual with a denim jacket, or maybe even a leather jacket if it's still chilly, and perfect for a relaxing brunch when it's warmer on its own! :)

Happy Easter! I hope you are having a lovely Easter weekend :) We are really enjoying the long weekend, it was nice enough to go to the beach earlier.
