Ruched Dress

"As I work through a problem, I move closer to my goals."

I love the soft, comfortable style of the ruched jersey dress. It's something which can easily be dressed up or down, and with our little heat wave coming to an end this weekend, I think this dress would be really cute with sneakers and a denim jacket.

I found this dress on Swap.com over the summer and paid next to nothing for it - there is an identical one on the site right now and it's less than $10! Over the weekend I went through my closet purgatory bin and packed up the entirety of its contents to send to Swap.com - while the consignment payouts of my last box didn't average more than $4 a piece, any money is better than none and I can work on freeing up more closet space.

  1. Any money is better than done and closet space is a precious thing - some might even call it priceless! I have a very similar dress that I absolutely love (which is saying something because I'm not always that comfortable in dresses.) I don't even remember where it came from anymore, but it cost hardly anything at all and considering how much I've worn it, it seems like it was even more of a bargain. I have to say, I love the jewels you paired it with in this look, too, especially that gorgeous ring. (I seem to be having a lot of ring envy on your blog this week, and it's only Tuesday!)

  2. Honestly $4 a piece is better than what I was getting through thredUP. I used to love their service, but their buy out money keeps going lower and lower so I end up just donating my clothes instead. It isn't worth it. It sounds like swap.com might be better. That dress you got is gorgeous on you! The ruched sides always make things more flattering!

  3. I really need to do a big closet purge - I have tons of things that don't quite fit right anymore and then lots of pregnancy pieces that are now too big. I've been postponing really getting in there and getting things organized but I've got plans to do some shopping in the coming weeks and so I need to make space for new pieces.

  5. That dress looks so cozy! And I love the ring!
I agree, if the stuff has been sitting in a box waiting to go for months then any money is better than nothing!

  13. Ooh I'll have to check out swap.com, that's one I haven't tried! I've given up selling my clothes on ThredUp--the payout is so low! I love shopping there though :) That dress is a great find too.

  14. Love this dress and ruching has been a favorite of mine right now as I work off this baby weight. It's great for camouflaging my tummy! I have a dress very similar to this I got from TJ Maxx.
