Striped Trench

"I am calm and relaxed in the presence of all people."

This year I had my heart set on attending the Cherry Blossom Festival in New Haven's Wooster Square, though the moment we arrived, I realized what a terrible idea that was - with all the droves of people in the square, it was impossible to get photos with the cherry blossoms. Plus crowds often give me anxiety, so while I'd intended on the festival being something fun, it quickly became something which was stressful for me. Eventually we went across the street where there was an equally nice flowering tree with fewer people puttering around and took these photos, while waiting for the gaps in pedestrian photobombs.

Next year I'm just going to avoid the festival and enjoy the trees in solitude!

  1. Yep, definitely best to avoid crowds! It was quite crowded when I was in DC to see them, but apparently not as bad as it usually is...can't imagine MORE people, yowza!

  3. I am not that ok with crowds but can handle them. However I think the best is to enjoy things in the quiet... specially if pictures are being considered. I am very impatient with people jumping into my pictures... on the bright side you're looking beautiful.

  4. I totally know that feeling Lydia!! I always think some events would be perfect for photos...until I realize that there are people around!! It's like when we were in Vegas for these scarf photos the 3 of us took! We'd start in a place where no one was around---and then poof---there would be a ton of people gathering around us....crazy!

  5. I can only imagine how chaotic a cherry blossom festival would be in reality, although I can totally understand the temptation to go to one, because, well, what's not to love? Except of course I hate crowds, particularly slow moving crowds of people paying more attention to their cell phones than their surroundings. So enjoying the cherry blossoms in solitude sounds like a much better plan to me! Although this outfit couldn't be cuter for a day at a cherry blossom festival.

  10. It's a shame the festival wasn't as fun as you hoped! You did manage to get some lovely photos here though where it was quieter. I really like your little white dress :)

Hope you are having a great weekend :)
