Snowed in

I did not leave the house all weekend. We got completely snowed in thanks to Nemo (who names these storms, seriously?) and even if I could have managed to dig out my poor car, the town plows didn't come down my road until late Sunday, so I was pretty much stuck.

I ventured out a bit to shovel, and got to put some of my new winter gear to good use. The parka and fur hat were both Christmas gifts this past year, and the sweater is something I thrifted last week -- it was five dollars, but I had 'Sarah Bucks' my thrift stores' reward currency, so I didn't spend any real money on it.

I knew I wanted to pair it with the gingham shirt straight away, since the colors matched and that always makes for an easy pattern mix!

  3. Lyddie workin' in the snow! Now there's a cute set of pictures. Fashion blogger at work.

Your hat... I just want to reach through the screen and touch it. I don't think you would ever get a cold head wearing that lovely hat.

Also, that poor little car of yours! I hope he is rescued soon, though I'm assuming that you wouldn't even be able to take it anywhere until the snow was cleared.

  44. Seriously. Sandy, Nemo... Such wimpy names for such serious storms!

I really like this plaid and sweater combo. Very cute. Can't believe it was only $5/free! I have such terrible luck at thrift stores. I guess I have to browse more often to get lucky.

I'm so glad you were able to get out. I wish spring upon you as soon as it can happen. Unless you really like the winter. Then I guess I don't wish spring upon you so quickly. Lol.
