Fingerless Gloves

Fingerless gloves are worthless as gloves. Their purpose is purely decorative, as they fail to do all the things you need gloves for. They won't keep your hands warm in the cold air, they won't keep your fingerprints out of crime scenes, and they won't conceal your badly chipping manicure.

I purchased these a couple years ago against my better judgement. I saw them, I loved them and then I put them down because I realized how rarely I would wear them. But then Jessica happened to blog about them, and as I'm sure you know, once someone else blogs about something, you want it all the more.

So I went back and got them; they were $20, and I'm currently averaging $10 a wear.

  7. Those are some serious bad ass gloves!!! I have some wooly ones. The were pretty useful when my workplace didn't have any heat a couple of years ago. I could still type but my hands were relatively warm.

  8. The gloves give your look a little bit of bad ass to them, lol! Love the scarf too.

  9. Haha, they are soooo cool!! But I know what you mean...totally worthless if you think about their purpose. But the cool factor is enough to buy them ;)

  10. Love this rock and roll look! This style really suits you, very cool!

I actually like fingerless gloves as I get annoyed when my fingers feel enclosed - most of the time I just keep them in my pocket, right beside my unworn gloves. :)

  16. The gloves look great. I only wear regular gloves or mittens, since it is usually too cold or warm here for fingerless ones.

  17. They remind me of Cindy Lauper - but on another level: yours are much classier.

  18. Like you said, they're not much for function but look darn cute! I have a lace pair purchased for an 80's party. I've one them once again for Halloween. I guess I'm averaging about $10 per wear as well!

  19. FINGERLESS GLOVES, YEAAAHHHHH! See?! Aren't they just so pointless and fun, yeah. I'm glad you got them. They are useless, but they look great. And the way you integrated them into your outfit is just flaaaaaawless.

I'm digging that scarf and you seem to be having fun with those wedges, eh?

  20. BUT, they are great for iphone use. So most of the hand is warm and you can still use your phone.

You look rocker chic in this outfit. Velvet pants? That just sounds amazing.

  23. I can see what you mean about fingerless gloves. I happen to love them (and all gloves for that matter). I have a pair myself that I wear when I want to look/feel like a bad ass. Love the way these look on you! I'm glad that you went back and the feminine scarf is a nice balance.

  24. Them gloves are AWESOME! I've got some wool fingerless gloves and I gotta say I think you are wrong they are perfect for like a chilly rainy day when real gloves feel like overkill. Just think of them as your 'driving gloves' and then you can wear them all the time :)

  27. I find my fingerless gloves (http://wendybrandes.com/blog/2007/09/maid-in-manhattan/) very useful! Definitely keeps me warmer than no gloves but I can still do what I have to do with a phone, keys, etc!

  28. I love fingerless gloves. I like them because they keep my hands warm (believe it or not) and I can still write, text, show off my manicure, whatever. :) Yours are super cute!

  31. So they may not be the most practical things in the world, but they do up the cool factor, no matter what you're wearing. And sometimes that's more important than warmth :) Those gloves rock!

  35. If it's any consolation they look really great!

I have some knit fingerless gloves. I really love them and rarely wear them because I'm a bit of a germ-o-phobe and end up taking them off to wash my hands and never putting them back on again since they only serve a fashionable purpose.

  41. I love the gloves! They go really well with the boots and jacket, too, although I do understand how useless they are. I had fingerless gloves when I was in high school and they never worked for me.
