A horse, of course

Now these photos did require a bit of editing of the sky, and let me say, so far as I can tell, layer masks aren't very easy in Lightroom, where is my trusty magic wand?

As usual, I'm not really one for instructions users manuals, I'm more of a figure it out as I go along kind of person.

So far it's been working out okay with the camera, over the past two years I've had people in through both the internet and in real life show me all sorts of things, like white balance settings and flash power settings and what that weird button on the lower left side of the lens does (depth of field preview).

So that's what I'm doing right now... figuring things out and asking for help!

  1. Sunsets are looking good! I love this outfit, it's definitely badass/rocker. I want a jacket like that so bad but I just can't seem to find one. There were some on sale at Target for $12 but none in a size I could work with :(

  14. Sorry, but I stink at photo editing (which is why I don't do it to my photos) and I've had my camera for five years or so and still don't know what all the buttons do. Plus side is that I love your horse print blouse!

I absolutely adore the way the leather jacket toughens up the horse-print shirt. I'll definitely have to use these photos as inspiration for the next time I style mine :)

Re using LR. Have you tried using the graduated filter tool?
This is excellent for toning down too bright skies.
Also there is lots of free LR podcasts on iTunes where many of those type of problems are dealt with.
There is also a LR blog (http://lightroomkillertips.com/) which is excellent if you are new to LR.
