Bracelet weather

These photos are from last week, before 'the incident' and are a document of another over budget shopping digression. The item in question? This black and white bangle purchased for a mere $7 at Coco's.

In my mind, bracelets are exclusively summertime jewelry, as soon as the air starts to turn cold, the last thing you want is metal around your wrists bound to turn icy the moment you step outside, and once gloves become necessity, the hassle of getting them on around a bracelet is too much to even bother.

So while the bracelet wearing conditions are still optimal, I'm piling them on.

  2. I totally agree with you on bracelets. Once it gets cold out you're covering your arms so no one can even see your arm candy. Definitely wear them while you can.

  4. I am also in love with your necklace! I always start out with bracelets and end up taking them off throughout the day. I can't type with them for some reason. Your clutch is pretty too. It looks like a watercolor or tie dye?

  6. Do I detect a bit of curl in your hair? It looks good. And I love the location of these shots

  7. I just read about the incident- how awful! I hope your camera recovers quickly (and that its treatment isn't too expensive.) I admire all bloggers who take their own photos, since I have a photographer and would be lost without one, so you get even more sympathy from me :( You got some great shots before the beach disaster, though. I absolutely adore your navy skirt, and you've paired it with the perfect subtle white top that really allows it to shine :)

  10. You are definitely right. Bracelets are too cumbersome when all I'm concerned with is keeping my core temperature above freezing. But speaking of which, your necklace looks like beautiful snow drops!

  11. I am totally your opposite when it comes to bracelets. Since I hate being hot but I get hot easily, I don't wear much jewelry in the summer. Your necklace would be my pick in jewelry and that would be for year round. I have a couple of black tops that necklace would be perfect for.

  13. Very nice outfit. You are so right about bangles, even when its not too cold, they just don't go as well in winter. I love your necklace, don't think I could pull it off, but looks great on you.

  15. I never thought of it but, indeed bracelets are a summery accessory. I cannot imagine that COLD metal against my skin on a snowy morning.... brrrr!

  19. LOVE the bracelet. Bracelets are good ways to spice up an outfit without totally changing your look.

  20. Is that a new Kie & Kate necklace or... maybe it's just the light? And you totally needed to have that bangle. New nail polish too?

  23. the things you never think about in florida: avoiding bangles bc of cold metal. it's just like hot and hotter here!

  25. i feel ya on the cold bracelets. though, i don't really even wear them in the summer. i just don't like having things around my wrist. makes me feel funny...

  26. For some reason, jewelry can make me feel too hot, so I tend to wear more bracelets in the fall and winter than in the summer. That being said, I've got two bracelets on as i type this comment... ahahah!

  27. your bracelet logic is very true. trying to slip a bracelet over a glove is a hassle and half. Love that you are keeping on with the knotted blouse look!

  28. That picture with your hair blowing in the wind is perfect, love it!

  29. I wear bracelets very rarely, but I always like the way they look on other people. For some reason, they bug me and I notice them being there more than I do with other jewelry items. Anyway, I like that one! Also, did you get a second "stormy sea" necklace or is it just the lighting that makes it look lighter in color?

  30. Yesssss pile those bracelets on. And loving that picture with the chain!

  32. I can't believe you have the white "Stormy Sea" necklace and what a great deal for that bracelet. I think you started a trend with the knotted blouse. I love that skirt!
