Little yellow dress

I've had this dress since the beginning of the blog and some of the very first outfit posts (which I wont link to because you don't need to see how bad it was). It's from Forever 21, and has worn pretty well considering, though lately I've been thinking I want to update it with something that offers a bit more polish.

Of course I can still keep this one to throw on to go to the beach in.

  1. Sometimes I am really shocked at how well Forever 21 wears. Then of course you get your traditional crappy quality out of some but some shirts I've bought have lasted seemingly forever!

  2. I love it because it's not a crazy bright yellow, it's the perfect tone :D
Re the skirt: Nope, you just pull it up to make the slit go up more, ha ha...hard to explain

  4. I love it when something starts out so ordinary and ends up being extra special. I have bought clothes that seemed OK and were very cheap but then have been treasures in my wardrobe.

  8. Sometimes I can't believe how well-made some of the things at Forever 21 are. I have a blazer from there that I'm sure will last for years.

This dress is super cute, and I think you should link to old blog posts :)

  9. Awe, well hello there, ole yellow dress! Such a trusty companion he hath been. It's always nice to have a few less dressy dresses for going places casually without worrying about them too much. But this is still so cute! And yellow is always a fantastic color.

I wanna steal your spiky gold bracelet.

  10. I haven't had good luck with F21 and hence don't shop there (among other reasons) but love the dress on you!

  17. It`s such a great, sedate yet cheerful shade of yellow. I have an F21 tunic that I`ve owned for like 6 years and I`m amazed how well it`s held up (funnily enough, I`m wearing it in today`s blog post).

  21. Bessie posted about the spike bracelets from ebay last week and now I've been thinking of getting one or two- I didn't realize how inexpensive they are. And I think you should definitely get another yellow dress. Maybe a shirt dress? As a fellow yellow-dress wearer I think one can never have too many!

  22. I think the F21 dress is really cute and sure has lasted a long time. Love it with the belt. Also, I think your thrifted bag and eBay spike bracelet are perfect!

  23. I have a similar dress from F21. Perfect for running to the beach or the grocery store and it is in surprisingly good shape considering the amount of time and the brand!

  29. I have a dress similar to this from Old Navy, but every time I wear it I feel like i have on a moo moo, it's not that it's too big, it's the fact that i have a prominent rear end and a pooch in front so it sorta "tents" out lol. i tried making a waist with a belt, but I swear it made it look worse, I guess I don't have the body type for it, but this looks stellar on you!

  30. I can see why you would keep it for so long - that color was made for your hair/skin tone! I'm a natural blondie so I don't do yellow but it always looks so happy and great on tanned brunettes.

  31. I have a lot of pieces from Forever 21 that surprisingly have withstood the test of time. This is such a great dress. I love the color and how versatile it is..changing the look with just simple additions and changes of accessories.

  38. You know, everything I have ever bought from F21 has worn beautifully! Especially their denim and dresses. It kills me that we don't have it in Australia because the shipping to get it here is astronomical but every time I jump in and buy I am always delighted. The dress looks gorgeous on you - I have a midi tube dress in the same colour and you've given me some new ideas for how to wear it x

You are so lucky to be able to wear this gorgeous yellow. Love how the wide belt emphasizes your tiny waist.
