Still summer

Labor Day. I don't subscribe to that whole "no more wearing white" rule. Really, it makes no sense. I see white sweaters every winter...

I am willing to admit that this particular dress is decidedly summery, and therefore best worn before the warm days run out.  As well as the starfish cuff. I'm not sure where I stand on carrying my beloved nautically themed looks through the Fall, they might be a touch out of place. Not that it's Fall yet. Let's all not forget that its still summer for the better half of September. Okay?

This weekend I did a bit of shopping, I went to an antique store, and while I wanted to buy pretty teacups from Japan that I have no room for, I ultimately passed them up for 1960's tall water glass and this brilliant blue and gold bracelet.

I also went to the Mall and picked up a cute H&M striped mini skirt for $6 and another bracelet from American Eagle, on sale for $10. After the first day, a rhinestone fell out. Arg. I have no idea when I'm going to be able to get back to AE to exchange it now!

I hope everyone who celebrates Labor Day, had a great, relaxing day off!

Yeah, I only stop wearing something if it's white and summery. I have this white, full skirted dress that looks great under cardi's, so it stays when it gets cold!

Love all the blue accents!

Even though I won't miss the intense heat, I am planning on hanging onto summer for as long as possible. Once it's gone, it feels like FOREVER until it returns. Plus, you're right, it won't technically be fall for weeks now!

I love your pretty summery white dress and turquoise accents. Great look for you!

Amazing outfit and I hate fashion rules so watch out fall I'll be wearing white! :) Beautiful accessories and what an amazing vintage glass!

I love the turquoise details in contrast to the white. But I think that with the right accessories it might work for fall. I'm thinking a lot of browns. Although I've never tried it before, I'll have to find someone whose done a white dress in a fall-like way, maybe that will get me to hunt down a white dress as cute as yours.

That is such a great dress - definitely very summery but I think there will be still be some warm days left and hence chances to wear it!

You look so cute, this is the perfect outfit to enjoy Labor Day in. I love the touches of turquoise (your signature color).

I'll probably still wear white until Fall comes and a little bit after. Since I still have an unblogged white denim skirt!

I hope you had a great 3 day weekend! :)

Love the white and teal combo!! As a born and raised southerner, the white rule was always enforced. Now that I'm a Manhattanite, I've embraced the winter white look!

That not wearing white after labor day is a non-rule now. So, where it all you want, sistah!

You look amazing in that white wrap dress. Love the stripe tank under it. Your jewels are always stunning. You have a great eye for accessories. And you really do find great deals. Love it.

I agree, I wear white whenever I can. I think the "Don’t wear white after Labor day" rule actually makes me wear it more.

You're right, we do still have a few weeks of summer left! I keep forgetting that, and it's cooled off here so that isn't helping. I love the details of this outfit--the navy blue stripes with the turquoise accents!

I think white makes a lot of people's faces/skin look better so no problems with wearing it past Labour Day.

With your colouring and the pops of blue you, my dear, look absolutely stunning. I'm sure people mistook you for a celebrity!

I'm so over all those old fashion rules. New rules for a new era. Love how the blue and white look so crisp together.
