Summer Arrival

It was back up in the 90°s this weekend, after far too much cold and rain, the heat was a welcome change. On Friday evening I went to the Neville Wisdom Fashion Show in New Haven, Saturday and Sunday were pretty low key. Sean and I finally visited Joey C's Boathouse in Stratford, which was an unexpectedly pleasant venue by the docks, considering it's tucked away in the back of a stripmall and has views of 95 (but they are water views, and doesn't that make all the difference?) More importantly, we both really enjoyed our meals and were happy with the decision to venture a little further out to try it, rather than sticking with their original Milford location we've frequented more times than I can recount.

Friday Five Under $50

So happy it's finally Friday and the forecast says it's time for summer. Time for straw bags, tassels, poms, and a sexy swim suit that does not look like it's from Target. Right now I'm on the hunt for the perfect 'lawn friendly' shoe to wear for an upcoming wedding this month. There are a few pairs I like, including the one featured below from Daniel Footwear, but I don't want to be too casual - I'm planning on wearing my japanese floral print Kate Spade dress. Don't you just love my logic that since I'm wearing a dress already in my closet I can justify a new pair of shoes? (And probably a new bag too, right?)

Casual Office Attire

I'm pretty sure I've worn nothing but jeans, a printed blouse, flats, and a cardigan to work for the last month. I switched the cardigan for the denim jacket for the sake of these photos, but really I've been living in my long black cardigan these days. I feel a little guilty for putting together such uninspired looks for work; if I photographed all of them it would be a big yawn. Hopefully the nicer weather which is finally supposed to arrive next week will give me the push I need to mix things up.
