I give thanks daily for a long, happy, healthy life.

It seems I like to pull out this cocoon coat on the coldest of days, and after last weekend's brush with spring, nothing could have felt more harsh than the freezing cold that settled in these last couple days. I suppose I should be grateful to have plenty of opportunities to use the weather as an excuse to do little more than settle in for an early night with a hot cup of tea and whatever is new on Netflix. I just binged Santa Clarita Diet and I had very mixed feelings. After the first episode I was so grossed out I didn't think I'd watch anymore... but I did. It was a strange combination of funny and disgusting, and somehow I liked it. At least I can say I think I've turned a corner on this cold and am starting to feel a lot better!

Mind Over Matter

I send thoughts of healing and love to my body today.

Last October I got a cold, followed by another in November, and a third in December. I set my mind that I was going to have a healthier year, that I was not going to get sick again. I partly felt that a lot of those colds were brought on by stress as much as viruses, yet I have not managed to get past it. I got sick again last Wednesday, and have had an awful cough all week. So much so that I couldn't get any sleep for several nights. On Monday I was up until 5:30 A.M., watching Gilmore Girls; naturally, because if the banter of Lorelai Gilmore can't lull me to sleep, then what can? Needless to say, I missed a couple days of work, and have tried nearly every cough remedy on the internet, including herbal throat spray, the currently trending turmeric tea (kind of like having an Indian soup?) and a eucalyptus shower. I'm looking forward to the weekend, for some restfulness, and hopefully the end of the last cold I'm going to have for a while.

Nearly Spring

I choose to welcome all the good things that life has to offer.

 

Hello March! I know weather wise, you don't always deliver the way I hope you will, but then again, neither do April and May, so I will just have to be content that you are here and bring the promise of spring and warmer weather.

This vintage London Fog trench continues to be the best $3 I ever spent at a thrift store, I'll have had it going on seven years now. I'm also quite pleased with my black tote, even though I've noticed that carrying a tote makes me a crazy packrat. Every weekend I dump it out and always seem to be surprised when I find half a dozen pens, several lipsticks, and usually a spoon. Small bags force me to be the organized person I want to be. However a small closet just forces me to take over every possible surface in the bedroom to store all my bags.
