Snowed in

I did not leave the house all weekend. We got completely snowed in thanks to Nemo (who names these storms, seriously?) and even if I could have managed to dig out my poor car, the town plows didn't come down my road until late Sunday, so I was pretty much stuck.

I ventured out a bit to shovel, and got to put some of my new winter gear to good use. The parka and fur hat were both Christmas gifts this past year, and the sweater is something I thrifted last week -- it was five dollars, but I had 'Sarah Bucks' my thrift stores' reward currency, so I didn't spend any real money on it.

I knew I wanted to pair it with the gingham shirt straight away, since the colors matched and that always makes for an easy pattern mix!

Lyddie workin' in the snow! Now there's a cute set of pictures. Fashion blogger at work.

Your hat... I just want to reach through the screen and touch it. I don't think you would ever get a cold head wearing that lovely hat.

Also, that poor little car of yours! I hope he is rescued soon, though I'm assuming that you wouldn't even be able to take it anywhere until the snow was cleared.

Nnenna said...

Aww, you look so cute in your snow gear! And seriously, who does name these storms?!

CodeOverdressed said...

I asked my self the exact same thing! Who names them? ha ha, anyways you look so cute and chic in the snow! You made that shovel look very fancy!

I'm just blown away by how much snow you got hit with it (and of course it happens the first winter in six years that I'm not there). Hope the digging out process is going well!

So.... I actually miss snow like this. I want a real blizzard one day. I feel like it used to snow four feet when I was younger and I used to love it.

Seriously a fan of this jacket and hat. And I do like the striped sweater and blouse!

I was snowed in too but I certainly didn't look as cute as you when I went out to shovel! Love the outfit! I especially love the stripe/gingham combo. Quick question: Which brand(s) of skinny jeans do you like or prefer the most? I'm new to your blog so I'm still catching up. If you've mentioned it before would you please give me the link? Thanks and stay warm!

Seriously. Sandy, Nemo... Such wimpy names for such serious storms!

I really like this plaid and sweater combo. Very cute. Can't believe it was only $5/free! I have such terrible luck at thrift stores. I guess I have to browse more often to get lucky.

I'm so glad you were able to get out. I wish spring upon you as soon as it can happen. Unless you really like the winter. Then I guess I don't wish spring upon you so quickly. Lol.

Wow- you did get just a ton of snow! (You look pretty adorable shoveling out the path though, I never look that cute shoveling! Sweaty gross mess ends up being more my mo.) Your thrifted sweater is pretty awesome, I can't believe how perfectly it went with your button up!
