Edit and repeat

Sometimes I find a combination of accessories that I like so much, I simply have to repeat them.
While I may not "officially" be doing some kind of no repeats challenge, I am making a point to not repeat an outfit, and I do in fact photograph my outfits every single day, not just the days I blog.

The first time around I was embracing the military and lace trend, the army green jacket, the big gold cuff, my 'tough' chains, and the contrast of the frilly lace.

I liked the combination so much that I decided to switch out the dress and necklace and give it another go.

Which is your favorite?
Do you try not to repeat outfits, or do you like to just stick with what works?

  1. Both outfits are great, but I really like the first one with the lace. I love the military/feminine look. The tassel necklace in the second photo is really cool too :)

  3. Oooh love the both! But I think the second is my favorite :)
I try not to repeat outfits, but sometimes I love an outfit so much I repeat it...or I'm too lazy to pick something out XD

  4. I try not to repeat outfits too. This is a most excellent jacket and would be versatile to wear with many things. But the silhouette of the lace dress is just breathtaking.

  5. Can't make me choose! hah. I was smitten with the lace, but then I cheated on it with the print of the 2nd dress! ;P

Oh and the edit & repeat is pretty much how I get through my life! haha. :D

  6. I love how just changing the dress makes the outfit look completely different!

Since I've started blogging my outfits I am more conscious of repeating outfits but I still do it!

  7. i LOVE both outfits... but i have to say that the lace is my favorite, that dress is so delicate and beautiful and contrasts perfectly with the tough pieces!! i only photograph my outfits on the days i blog and try not to repeat too much (though i repeat a lot without posting), though it is really difficult when i find a trend or look that i truly am dazzled by... no harm done i think, it isn't realistic to never repeat <3shelby

  11. I really love both looks! I'm guilty of wearing the exact same outfit over and over again, but ever since I started my blog I've been trying not to do that! And honestly, I have so many clothes that I could probably go a few years without repeating an outfit.

  12. My favorite's the lace, but I rather like the other dress as well. I try not to repeat outfits, but I don't have enough clothing not to. There are very few looks I'll repeat in their entirety, but jewelry is an entirely different story. I'll become obsessed with a pair of earrings and wear them three months straight sometimes.

  13. I love both looks! But I really like the lace one a lot, that dress is so pretty! I'll repeat looks very rarely, most of the time though I try to switch out at least part of an outfit, even if the concept may be the same.

  14. wow, impressive that you photograph your outfits everyday. I don't know which outfit is best, they are both so lovely, I love the lace of course, but definitely love the accessories elements from the second one. :)

  15. I definitely try to make a conscious effort not to repeat an outfit, but I know it'll happen.

I like the second outfit the best. The colors just seem to go together well.

  16. When i was a junior in high school, I literally wrote down every outfit I wore everyday so as not to repeat it. I feel ya. I love the lace/military contrast in the first one and the dress is great in the second. I love the belt too and the tassel necklace!

  24. The looks are so different, I am not sure which one I like more! The lace is gorgeous but I really also dig the more modern and streamlined second look! I try not to repeat outfits but when you're short on time (and imagination) in the morning, sometimes I can't help it!

  26. I like it both ways but the dress in the second set is really spectacular! I don't have a policy on outfit repeats per se but I usually don't bother to photograph an outfit that I know is a repeat.

  39. Although I don't have any rules I follow or anything, I do try not to repeat outfits. I think it's mostly because I take outfit shots almost every day--I don't want to repeat on the blog! Anyway, I think repeating the same "idea" is a different story--that I do all the time! I love both of these looks, and how they're a similar concept but completely different at the same time. I think the lace dress look is my favorite!

  40. Hi Lydia! I hope you are doing well.:D

Both outfits look polished and chic but the second one caught my eye. I am loving the earthy colors and how they make your skin tone glow.:D

  43. Both are great, but I really, really like the first one. The juxtaposition of military and lace really appeals to me (I think it's a trend I actually tried, so that speaks volumes).

And that jacket is brilliant. Best one I've seen by far.

  44. Both outfits look good with the military jacket but the lace dress has an egde over the other dress. Because it's lace and I'm partial to it in any form!

  45. Both versions look great. If a combination of accessories works, stick with it.
