Summer feels like it's finally in full swing, which I realize is a bit of delayed feeling considering that we are already a week into July! I finally got my first, much needed pedicure of the year, put away the last of my boots and pulled out all my sandals (seriously), and packed away my wool blazers. Not sure why I'd been dragging my feet on getting those things done, and of course I'm already fretting about reversing the process in a few mere months. But rather than torture myself about the inevitable turn of the earth, I thought I might contemplate some fun summer closet additions. I love pieces that are bright and feel fun, my summer style is definitely defined by lots of color!
The world needs more Saturdays. I'm not one to complain about having a day off in the middle of the week - it was a lovely Fourth - but it was kind of like having a second Sunday, when I know I've got to to go work the next day and somehow that taints the whole thing. So I'm advocating for more Saturdays, the one day when I feel like I have the potential to do anything.

Feelings that I've been at odds with many of my old summer dresses compelled me to check out some of the 4th of July sales over the weekend. I was looking for something simple, a throw-on-but-still-fabulous dress. I didn't find that dress, but I did fall for this striped ruffled hem number at Loft.
I also caved and bought the Wacoal Halo strapless bra at the recommendation of another blogger, and I will admit, it's the best strapless bra I've yet to wear. I'm not saying it's the most comfortable bra I've ever worn, but I can wear it throughout the day and not have to deal with constantly trying to get it back into place. I also love that it isn't lined, however in my dressing room endeavors this weekend, I did find that even the nude lace will show through some of the more light delicate fabrics. As I've been embracing more styles which require a strapless bra, finding a better one was feeling important. The bottom line for the Wacoal Halo bra is that it's wearable.
