Yet, if I'm willing to let go of the idea that I need to book a ferry to Block Island to soak in some New England charm and simply drive twenty minutes down the road, I can have breakfast on a stone patio overlooking a river that flows into the Long Island Sound, enjoy a beautiful garden bursting with color and flooded with monarch butterflies, and appreciate the beauty of New England without swaths of tourists getting in the way.

Connecticut is one of my favorite New England states! I don't get down there nearly as much as I should, but I still love it!

ReplyDeleteI think it's easy to forget how much we have close to us when places further away seem more glamorous and exciting, haha! But there are a lot of nice spots around if we look!

Well. I have admittedly never been to Connecticut, and have seen little of New England outside of major cities, but I must say - this looks pretty charming from where I'm sitting. As all of your photos do, really. I'm always envious of your vintage American backdrops, but this just might be the best one yet. All of those beautiful flowers and butterflies! I can't think of a more perfect setting to show off denim shorts and a classic white blouse.

The things your own city has to offer can be impressive at times and local charm still rocks!
