Normally I'm more of skirt and dress girl, but I've been having a tights/shoe dilemma, in which I don't like when there is too much contrast between the color of the tights and the color of the shoes, and I only want to wear black tights, thus leaving me with very limited shoe options.
Perhaps I'll have some sort of tight epiphany; perhaps I'll buy more black shoes; or perhaps I'll just utilize the 10+ pairs of pants I own these next few chilly months.

I'm pretty much with you on the tights/shoes issue - I'll only wear black tights which I think will only go with black shoes. Days like today definitely is not skirt/dress weather...and sometimes it's just too cold for that!!! Such a cute outfit (is this the first time I'm seeing you in some type of sneaker?).
ReplyDeleteI think the pants are totally working for you - this is such a cute look!

Oh this tooootally works. The blazer is amazing, i just saw it's from TJ Maxx- i wish i could work sneakers like that..
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about jeans/pants in the colder months. I love my skirts/dresses, but I am a wimp when it's cold. I love the blazer and the Chucks together. Great look! Heather
ReplyDeleteI'm all about the jeans these days! But Being back in florida I'm wanting to wear jean shorts all day everyday :)
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit!

I love how you dressed up those sneakers! You look incredibly chic, but fun. Leopard and stripes? Genius! :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome shoes and love the pearls!

Brown tights with black shoes and vice versa can look great.
ReplyDeleteI love the laid back vibe of this outfit.
I love the casual chic look you have going on! And the whole tights issue? I understand...some days I wake up and it's just like no tights look good with the outfit I had planned in my head so a whole new outfit arises!

I think your conundrum is why I always wear boots in winter. But pants can be a good thing! It can be your fashion challenge for the new year!
ReplyDeletei.love.this!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Lyddie, I totally understand the tights problem. Like, I have all these colorful tights and I want to wear them but it's so hard because I want the shoes to match so my legs don't look short or something and it's all so confusing. I kind of get where you're coming from. I hope everything resolves itself. Tears upon tears~
ReplyDeleteBut ah, at least you still look super classy in your jeans. And rather nautical, too, which is refreshing in the winter! I like the button details on your sleeves so much. Buttons are super fun. <3
The stripes are perfect with the animal print bag!
ReplyDeleteGreat look! Chic but then bringing it down to earth with the sneakers. Loving it Ladycakes!

Your clutch is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou are the queen of cool accessories. Love the layered necklaces.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice casual outfit :) In winter I tend to see black tights as a neutral and wear them with anything and everything - otherwise I'd never have enough shoes to wear!

Hah! Your explanation of why you rely so heavily on jeans made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI have to side with you on the whole tights different color shoes thing
ReplyDeleteIt is so tricky
You don't want to cut yourself short, but all one color isn't always possible

The mix of Chucks and pearls is fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteYou're making me miss my collection of Converse sneakers! I left them in storage in another state when I moved to Boston.
ReplyDeleteI get focused on details, and am feelin' the fantastic buttons on that blazer.
ReplyDeleteI'm freezing in the winter, and wish I had more great pants for work. i'd really just like to wear my black skinny jeans EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
This outfit is so fun! I love that you finished it off with the sneaks! :D
ReplyDeleteAnd yea...I've given up on trying to match tights nicely with shoes, tomorrow I'm doing the bright blue Lanvin's with navy blue tights even though it annoys me, hah.... (unless I break down and put on jeans instead....)

I LOVE THAT BLAZER!! I gravitate towards jeans in the winter months too. I am challenging myself to break the usual routine this winter
ReplyDeleteI like the jeans. I tried wearing tights today and got super cold, so it is definitely pants weather!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun combo - love the gold, stripes and animal print all together!
ReplyDeleteo this is super duper cute!!
ReplyDeleteit's all abt jeans in the winter for me too, buy i'm kinda over it already this season :-/

Hah, this is just flat out awesome with the chuck taylors. I love how unexpected they were, it's fun to see a slightly different side of you.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you, I am not a huge fan of colored or patterned tights and I don't like too much contrast between my hosiery and shoes. I tried black sheer hose with red heels and wasn't a fan. It has been so cold out that I have been living in jeans and slacks.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great day to day outfit, you look fab, dear!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes for 2013!
Dora
I love seeing you in a pair of classic sneakers!
ReplyDeleteI do the same thing in winter - I think I wear jeans every other day. When it's freezing outside, it makes me want to wear something easy and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteLove that you wore this with Chucks!
I love the white Converse with this outfit! Totally a bold choice. This necklace layering is fab, too. I'm not into my red, blue, grey, and whatever color tights this season either. Not sure why, maybe I wore them too much last year?
ReplyDeleteYour clutch is pretty. Love the red accents on your converse it complements your tee.
ReplyDeleteLove, love , love this look. I have been so rocking my chucks lately but I love how you wore your sneaker but the look is still chic.
