I don't even want to think about how much time I wasted on Pinterest this weekend trying to find some winter style inspiration that didn't involve absurd amounts of exposed skin. I mean, seriously:
Heels with jeans in 20° weather = freezing.
Dress with coat and bare legs in 20° weather = freezing.
Cropped pants with sandals in 20° weather = still freezing!!
But there is hope. There are some sensible people out there who wear boots and coats and hats and keep warm. And you can also take those freezing pins and alter them to a warmer state like I did with this one.

It seems like whenever it's cold, we want to dress like it's warm, and vice-versa. But I'm glad you're staying somewhat warm, even if you can't find much inspiration for winter. :)
ReplyDeleteI sure am liking all these textures you have! That metallic top was such a good buy, and looks so perfect with a chambray top underneath. :D And I love how your collar is peeking out up top--cuuute!
&& b'aw, Lyddie! Your comment is much too sweet, eep. And much needed. I will hopefully get better and better as I go, because you are right--if I can get better at film, then that only means digital photos will be easier to take. :) I have tried a pinhole camera once in high school, but I'd love to make one myself! That's a good idea, yepyep. :D
Stay warm!! <3
i like the silver coated sweater <3
ReplyDeleteWinter weather definitely makes it hard to get dressed in the mornings. I think you nailed a winter look with this outfit. That sweater is gorgeous and you have done a great job remixing it.
ReplyDeleteI am so with you on the lack of inspiration out there for 20 degree weather. I've been resorting to sweater dresses with tights/ leggings and tall boots. I love your winterized version of that pin!
ReplyDeleteI can feel your pain! It is difficult to be fashionable in such temperature when all you really want to do is wear a floor length, hooded, seriously warm coat (if they make those) lol but you managed it very well. i am loving that silver sweater. it is so very rich and vibrant.
ReplyDeleteI wish it was cold were i am, i sweat buckets this this the weather is so hot, love the sliver sweater, i think you did lovely with the look, gorgeous

It's so hard to get out of bed, much less get dressed when it's this cold outside! I love your metallic sweater.
ReplyDeleteLove that sweater! Makes your sparkle!

I love the color mix of the green bag and lighter green pants-the colors look so wonderful together! It is difficult to dress stylishly in the winter. I end up throwing on puffy sweaters that make me look like a marshmallow-but at least I'm warm! haha
ReplyDeleteI really like that sweater! The whole outfit looks stellar!

Well done Lydia! CO has been super blessed with really warm temps. Until tomorrow. When it is supposed to be really really cold and snowing. I love your metallic sweater!
ReplyDeleteWinter weather does make getting dressed challenging, but you pulled together a great outfit. I like the blue and green with the silver.
ReplyDeleteI love this look! And the lighting in these photos is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately (or fortunately) I'm sick so I'm stuck working from home and am still in pjs...blegh

20 degrees? I'd die. I feel cold even in 40 degrees here. (lol) we are soft in the Pacific Northwest.
ReplyDeleteCool combo. I like the way you layer.
really nice look, I like the combination of the metallic sweater and denim shirt a lot:)

Love this outfit! Love the chambray top layered under the silver pullover.

Days like today I would be fine staying in pajamas. At last I got to go home early. Below freezing temps are just not fun and gets tougher and tougher to try to stay fashionable.
ReplyDeleteYou look so cosy and warm! I'm the same - can't be dealing with cold ankles and such in this weather! I love the colour of your trousers, so cute!

I had to truly laugh out loud at what you came across in your inspiration search. Isn't it absurd?1 I love fashion just like the next girl, but being cold is not chic!!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with the metallic sweater! It looks great with the green!

I so, so want this sweater! I need to get to a kohl's to try it on because it's perfect. I've been eying it for ages. GORGEOUS on you, especially with the mint jeans.
ReplyDeleteI think I need to do what you did, and take to Pinterest for some cold weather outfit inspiration. My outfits have been so boring lately. I like your look, though! There's nothing like some colored denim and a shiny sweater to liven up winter dressing!
ReplyDeleteIt's actually supposed to be practically warm here this week, but it's going to rain or slush. Right now it's slushing out-- not snowing, icing, or even sleeting. Slush is the best word I have to describe it.
ReplyDeleteIf I had a chambray shirt and silver sweater I would be copying this look. Alas, these things do not exist in my wardrobe... yet.
It was supposed to be super cold today but it turned out to be 70! Thankfully I was really feeling warmer weather clothes so I was good but seriously, it's so ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteI really want to steal that silver top! I love it layered with your chambray.
LOVE IT LOVE IT!!! Such a nice cool colors palette you have going on here!
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is so perfect with your mint jeans!

The silver sweater is absolutely gorgeous. In the past I would've thought a sweater like that could only be worn for a fancy shmancy occasion. But I love how easy it is to incorporate for every day outfits. Thanks for the idea! You look amazing :-)
ReplyDeleteMy friend and I have both been wearing the heck out of this sweater! I love it! It's so much more interesting than a regular sweater and can be dressed up or down! I wore it to a Fashion/style even downtown with windowpane and leather leggings on my blog today...oh yes and HAIR! check it out!

haha! I live in Arizona and all winter I wish and dream for cold days to wear cute, layered ensembles. And then we had a cold snap a few weeks ago and I almost died. Highs in the 40s? Brrrrrr. Forget cute layering, Burka and Uggs for me.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous outfit! I have just about given up on cute warm stuff. It happens once in a while, but not every day. Warm takes priority.
ReplyDeleteLove the silver sweater styled the the denim...look fabulous! Even styled with tights, it is just too darn cold to wear skirts in the winter!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute look and I am with you, when I get into a rut I am all over Pinterest
ReplyDeleteI picked up that sweater so many times, I totally regret not getting it now

I love all of these shades of blue in one outfit! That bag is so nice as well.

Love your silver sweater!
ReplyDeleteI wish we could exchange weather! We are experiencing some warm temperatures on this side of the U.S. Today it was 71 degrees =S.
ReplyDeleteYou rock those green pants too, Lydia and love the silver sweater!

ReplyDeleteI think I need to get into Kohls a little more often!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute outfit! Love the green, light blue and grey colour combo!

Oh wow, the thought of bare legs scares me in the wintertime! I pretty much always wear my longjohns under everything and bare toes? Brrrr, no thanks!
ReplyDeleteI really like seeing how much you wear these mint jeans, every time I see you rocking yours I get inspired to wear mine! (But I have bad follow through, soo...) It's so fun with the sparkly sweater.
I also want a gold sweater!!!!! You look fab!
ReplyDeleteI really do like this metallic with chambray idea. And wow, you have a lot of colored pants!
