I know, adding the purple skirt and purple tights seems a little over the top, but it just felt right. I actually had on a big cinch belt too, but decided I'd better follow the "remove one accessory rule" and I'm glad I did.
These shoes are new, part of the TJMaxx reckless spree. They are perforated leather, something that I'm inexplicably attracted to. They were $40, but technically I had a gift card which covered their cost, thus making them a Christmas gift. (See how I rationalize?)

Top Gap - Cardigan Gap - Skirt Talbots - Shoes Me Too - Tights Calvin Klein - Earrings Thrifted
Lovely mixing of shapes and colours. The skirt is super, love the wider waistband and the length.
ReplyDeletecute cardi :)
ReplyDeleteLooking very pretty Lyddie, I like the monochrome with various patterns, even the tights, I don't think they were too much at all. As far as what I mentioned the other day,I don't know but I always feel like there's something missing in my life, and this guy at church was talking to the youth about it (my son was there) but I was listening and he was explaining how people tend to say "If I had this I would be happy" and once we get it then we want something else, he mentioned also mentioned the marriage thing which it's always in my mind I won't lie. And then I hit me, what he was saying was true, even if I got what I wanted I would later be asking for more and never be trully fulfilled. He explained how God can fill that void and that emptiness and give our lives a true meaning, which I believe in my heart it's true. I don't need so many belts, or skirts, or shoes, I want them all because for a little bit they satisfy the emptiness but ti doesn't last. However when I pray and communicate my needs to God I feel better. I know things might not change, but I also know that I'm loved and that I'm not alone and that gives me hope. =)
ReplyDeleteI happen to think that your shirt and cardigan match perfectly! Color and brand matching be darn! This whole outfit looks chic and springy!
ReplyDeleteLooks lovely! I'd never have the guts to try and be so adventurous with prints. :D
ReplyDeleteLOVE this!!! I love the pop of all the colors! It wouldn't have been as awesome without the tights and skirt :D

I love your idea that everything from the Gap goes together - I think you might be right and that's hilarious to me.
ReplyDeleteI love perforated leather too! And I also don't know why. I have a perforated leather handbag and I love that thing.
Gracey
What a lovely color palette! I especially adore that Gap floral print cardigan, wow. And your perforated leather heels are so pretty, I can see why you are drawn to the texture!

You are absolutely right! They look great together and the colour is perfect on you!
ReplyDeleteLOL - Gap does always match - probably why I shop there so much!
ReplyDeleteYou look so elegant! I love all the colors together. And fabulous new Christmas gift ;)
I like that rule, and the cardigan and blouse look great together.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE this outfit! I keep saying that I want to pattern mix more but it doesn't happen. Must follow the way of the LyddieGal. Beauteous!

Oooooh go lady! I love this look from top to bottom and the fact that purple is my favorite color makes it better!! FABULOUS!!
ReplyDeleteSome people would not be brave enough to do a full-on monochromatic look, but I really dig it! Top to bottom, especially in purple, is super fashionable. :) Love all the pattern mixing, too.
ReplyDeleteHaha I love that. We don't have a Gap in NZ but I might try check it out when I'm in the US later this year. I think it's great that you added the skirt, such a refreshing look on you :)
ReplyDeleteGirl, this outfit is amazing! You're my hero.
ReplyDeletei love that top! you are awesome at mixing prints and colors. i think you were smart to remove the belt. the outfit doesn't need it. looks great like you styled it!

Love the purples and patterns! This is one of my favorite outfits from you :)
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit, I agree when you buy things from the GAP they all seem to go. I wonder if they do that on purpose? The similar colors are nice too... I like your Christmas gift. I still have some credit left to LOFT from the holidays that I've been holding on to for warmer weather shopping.
ReplyDeleteso nice <3
ReplyDeletewanna check my blog?
we can follow each other if you like :)
I love the colours! especially the purple (and shape) from the skirt ^^
ReplyDeleteAnd so you have the feather dress!? That one was my personal favorite in my modcloth line-up. I am dying to get that baby, but need to save some dollars first. x
It works so well together:) I love the patterns and colours:) Enjoy your day, sweetie

LOVE LOVE LOVE the shoes. Great outfit -- one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE pattern mixing - I don't have the knack for it, but I love to see it on others!
ReplyDeleteYou're full on spring! This looks very cheerful. It's been raining a lot here, so I've been feeling moody. I like the pattern mixing and the purple hues. Those shoes look great, too.
ReplyDeleteJajajaja what a funny rule!! I really like your pattern mixing here! The color combo is also delightful, very cheerful and fun.

I love the mix of prints, and that you added bright tights to the mix. It's a bold combination, and you wear it so well!
ReplyDeleteI love all the color! And the braid-- very crafty :)
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think the blouse and cardi only match because of the rest of the outfit - if you hadn't gone all the way with the purple theme, they might have looked a bit random together. I love this look. Once again, you've nailed the colors.

I love this look top to bottom! Fantastic color mix and mix of patterns. Plus I love the shade of that skirt! I would never think to look at Talbots. I always think it's for older ladies but it does have some classic styles and fun colors. Don't you just love Me Too shoes? So comfy!

Lyddie, I love this outfit. Your pattern mixing and color palette is amazing!

I swear I commented on this before but totally didn't... maybe I'm just having a major case of deja vu. You're making me feel like spring! For some reason this year I haven't been feeling too springy. I don't think it's over the top either, I love the purples!
ReplyDeleteLove the monochromatic look!
ReplyDeleteThis colour combo is beautiful and that cardigan is so perfect.
