Monochrome pattern mixing madness

I have this theory that anything you have ever, and will ever purchase from the Gap will always go together. Such as this floral cardigan and floral top. Not the same colors, but both Gap, and therefore they go.

I know, adding the purple skirt and purple tights seems a little over the top, but it just felt right. I actually had on a big cinch belt too, but decided I'd better follow the "remove one accessory rule" and I'm glad I did.

These shoes are new, part of the TJMaxx reckless spree. They are perforated leather, something that I'm inexplicably attracted to. They were $40, but technically I had a gift card which covered their cost, thus making them a Christmas gift. (See how I rationalize?)

    Looking very pretty Lyddie, I like the monochrome with various patterns, even the tights, I don't think they were too much at all. As far as what I mentioned the other day,I don't know but I always feel like there's something missing in my life, and this guy at church was talking to the youth about it (my son was there) but I was listening and he was explaining how people tend to say "If I had this I would be happy" and once we get it then we want something else, he mentioned also mentioned the marriage thing which it's always in my mind I won't lie. And then I hit me, what he was saying was true, even if I got what I wanted I would later be asking for more and never be trully fulfilled. He explained how God can fill that void and that emptiness and give our lives a true meaning, which I believe in my heart it's true. I don't need so many belts, or skirts, or shoes, I want them all because for a little bit they satisfy the emptiness but ti doesn't last. However when I pray and communicate my needs to God I feel better. I know things might not change, but I also know that I'm loved and that I'm not alone and that gives me hope. =)

    I love your idea that everything from the Gap goes together - I think you might be right and that's hilarious to me.

    I love perforated leather too! And I also don't know why. I have a perforated leather handbag and I love that thing.

    Some people would not be brave enough to do a full-on monochromatic look, but I really dig it! Top to bottom, especially in purple, is super fashionable. :) Love all the pattern mixing, too.

    I love this outfit, I agree when you buy things from the GAP they all seem to go. I wonder if they do that on purpose? The similar colors are nice too... I like your Christmas gift. I still have some credit left to LOFT from the holidays that I've been holding on to for warmer weather shopping.

    You know, I think the blouse and cardi only match because of the rest of the outfit - if you hadn't gone all the way with the purple theme, they might have looked a bit random together. I love this look. Once again, you've nailed the colors.

    I love this look top to bottom! Fantastic color mix and mix of patterns. Plus I love the shade of that skirt! I would never think to look at Talbots. I always think it's for older ladies but it does have some classic styles and fun colors. Don't you just love Me Too shoes? So comfy!
