White Hot

This morning I put on my white jeans for Carrie of This Free Bird's White Denim in Winter Challenge, and I swear they just commanded warmer weather. It was a pleasant 40° which thankfully helped to melt through most of the thick ice covering every walkable surface. So I felt pretty safe in my heels today.

Even though I'd already styled these jeans for the winter twice before, I was really excited about the challenge and wanted to create a look that would feel fresh, and combine elements of summer and winter in a way that felt seamless.

I would say that I took inspiration from everywhere; the pairing of rust and grey, the fur vest layered over the leather jacket, piling on layered chains and playing up toughness with stud earrings and my totally badass hedgehog ring (I bet he could really do some damage if used as a weapon).

I even painted my nails for the occasion; it's Rimmel London Steel Grey.

I must admit, I am pretty darn pleased with the results, and I hope I've changed the mind of anyone who ever said that you can't wear white after Labor Day!
