Sweater and Jeans Ad Nauseam

I took outfit photos six times in February. I feel like that has to be some sort of record low. Even the coldest of times, I used to be so dedicated. I can even remember some of those days very clearly thinking, "Why, oh why, am I standing out here in the freezing cold with this tripod taking photos?"

I feel a little guilty, because when I started blogging it was in part to motivate me to want to dress my best every day. Now it's more like, wear jeans and a sweater every day, but maybe put on some cute heels the day I take photos. Just because I don't like wearing tights anymore doesn't mean I have to write off winter style, and while I ride out these last few weeks of winter (because the reality is that it is still winter) I feel like I should try harder to make the most of it in a way I haven't been these last few months.

I suppose now that I've got that extra hour of daylight I have one less excuse for not taking photos on weekdays.

  1. Speaking of record lows, don't feel bad. I took outfit photos only twice in February. And twice in January. The cold made me give up almost entirely. This year, I had a back log of Europe photos that made that acceptable. But I will have run out of those by next week and then, well - and then I don't know. I'll have to try to get back into the habit of shooting. Or at least try to. But it's still very much winter here and finding motivation to do anything but not freeze in winter is no easy feat.

  2. It's all good Lydia.....we have to evolve, I think, and sometimes life gets in the way.

  4. My winter style is pretty much 100% about function and avoiding the cold...which makes for some pretty uninteresting outfits to be sure. You're a good 50% more stylish than me in the winter, easy. Even with the majority of outfits being jeans and sweaters.

  5. I love the metallic sheen on those pumps! I have been a bit uninspired lately too. The cold weather really starts to wear on me this time of year and I just want spring temps! Hopefully we both get that soon!

  12. Don't feel bad at all! In Feb, I only took 5. Hence, why I only had 5 blog posts haha! But it is really hard to motivate yourself when its cold out. I am excited for more daylight. It's already motivating me to create outfits and do some photoshoots! I really love that sweater of yours. The different textures gives it a fun vibe!

  18. I am so with you. I have never posted less than I have in the past few weeks. Partly because of the weather, partly because I am underwhelmed by fashion and partly because I am not motivated.
I do however love this sweater, you look beautiful!

  21. I hear you on the cold. We tried to take pictures last weekend, and I had to stop because my hands were going numb - just not worth it! But these turned out great and you can't even tell you're cold :) Love that fun bag too!

  22. Sometimes you have all the motivation and energy in the world to take outfit pics, sometimes you don't, that's okay! :) Don't beat yourself up for it. I don't have to deal with the crazy cold temps you do, I think if I did I'd never take pics, so celebrate the victories :) Especially when the resulting outfit you do get pics of is as cute as this with the mix of textures :)

Hope you are having a good week so far :)

  24. For me, winter sucks any scrap of motivation I had, when it comes to outfit photos, out of me! I can't even get an outfit post up once a week these days... hoping by spring things will get better. I do love that sweater though, the texture makes it so fun!

  25. I couldn't agree more dear. Indeed, blogging can be really demanding, not just in your time, but especially on the things you wear. ANd yes, you can't go wrong with jeans and cute heels! By the way, love your cute sweater.
