August Budget

I thought I was being good this month, but two somewhat pricey purchases resulted in a pretty heavy bottom line.

I decided to partake in the Lilly Pulitzer after party sale for the first time and I had my sights set on just one dress, an eyelet lace shell shift dress with a scalloped hem (so predictable, aren't I?) With a list price of $298, the sale price of $74 seemed quite reasonable. This will be my first dress from the brand, and it might not even fit, but I figure I can always list it on eBay if it doesn't work out.

The Minkoff sandals you already know about, the brown sandals I'm still a little on the fence about. While I like the price, they are a bit higher than I normally wear and I'm not sure I want shoes that are more for looking at than wearing, I already have a bunch of those...

I'm feeling pleased I picked up the Banana Republic denim skirt when I did; I'd had my eye on it and after trying it on and seeing how soft and stretchy it was, I had to have it. It's replacing the denim skirt I already have that I simply can not wear if I need to be seated for any length of time. It was only 30% off when I got it, but I had some Gap Card rewards to put towards it. It's sold out online now, but definitely check out stores this weekend, as everything is 40% off for Labor Day.

Rebecca Minkoff Camila Slide Sandal, $64
Banana Republic Pencil Skirt, $26 (after gift card)
Report Mariachi Sandal, $21
Ella Moss White Eyelet Lace Skirt, $30
Lilly Pulitzer Aralyn Shell Dress, $74

Total = $215

  1. I know I saw this after every budget post, but honestly - even months when you feel like you've overspent, you generally don't come close to what I am guilty of spending on just one thing at least once a month...! I love that shell print dress and I really hope it will fit you because I am dying to see how you'll style it :)

  4. Lydia indeed it added up. I like the Pulitzer dress and of course the BR jean skirt. Which just reminded me that ALL local BR and Gap closed for good yesterday.
