Rose quartz and Serenity

I'm always intrigued by the color Pantone chooses to be the color of the year, and this year, either as fun twist, or a stage set for things to come, they selected two colors.

Both are pastels, the unassuming blush pink, Rose Quartz and the bolder periwinkle blue, Serenity. The blush I can see weaving itself into my wardrobe effortlessly. The pumps would be seasonless, and the fur vest would be just as gorgeous with olive shades in the fall as it would with spring florals.

The blue I find to be a bit trickery. While I adore the shape of the bag and the idea of the fur scarf, ultimately I think the coat would be the most wearable.

What are your thoughts on the colors of the year? Excited to add them to your closet, or just another trend to forget about as swiftly as you heard about it?

  2. Sadly for me I'm going to forget these are the colors of the year and stick to my usual jewel tones, haha. No pastels for me! ;)

  3. I admit that I have totally ignored every single one of Pantone's colours of the year - the idea just seems so circular to me; a colour is on trend so Pantone announces that it is a trend to make us buy into it further. Plus, colour really isn't my thing ;) It is funny to see these two colours come up, though, because one of my cousins in a textile designer and when I lived in Europe, we went to a big design show together in Paris where they talked very secretively about the colours for the years to come - and these were two of them!

  4. I'm happy they finally chose colors I can get on board with! I do find that often times the Pantone Color of the Year has a hard time translating to clothes. Inanimate objects, great. But this year I really like that blush shade pink Rose Quartz, I would love that on my nails!

  5. I'm with you, I think the rose quartz will be really wearable but the blue isn't a color I gravitate towards. I do love that coat though, it does look really wearable!

  9. Apparently pastels aren't the best colours on me near my face, so I might look into some accessories instead. I do love my blue bags, haha! I don't own anything in these particular shades though.
