Strides

I feel like I got a lot done over the weekend, and at the same time, I feel like I barely even scratched the surface of my list of things. I also didn't manage to snap more than a single set of outfit photos, and with these short days it's becoming more and more of a challenge. Sometimes I wish I were more of a morning person and could get up early enough to take them before work. That would be something, considering I've consistently left at least five minutes later than I should since I moved.

At least through all this holiday hustle and bustle, the weather has been amazing. Truly, it feels like fall out there - you know the perfect fall that everyone dreams about but never actually happens? This is it, in December.

  1. Woah, woah, woah, woah let's just talk about those incredible boots for just a second. I freaking love how unique they are and they look like they were made for you! I hope you have a great week and get a ton done, I know that I barely got anything done this past weekend.

  2. I am dying over that adorable cozy cardigan! Also must agree with you about the struggle for outfit pics. And the morning struggle. It's definitely real and I believe physically impossible to leave on time, especially on Mondays.

  3. The weather looks absolutely glorious in these photos! We had a beautiful fall but it's been pouring rain for almost two weeks straight now and what I wouldn't give for a little bit of that sunshine :) Not to mention what I wouldn't give to be wearing an oversized sweater in place of a coat! I just love the sweater that you finished this look with; it looks so cozy but so effortless at the same time, like you just grabbed it on your way out the door without giving it much thought but somehow it pulled your whole look together perfectly. As for to do lists... I stopped making them in April of this year and honestly, I've never been happier. It didn't impact my ability to get things done very much, either.

  4. You look gorgeous! I hope you're able to get everything done...at least you were able to check a lot of things off your list over the weekend :) Fall/Winter are my favorite seasons, but they are the worse for taking pictures. It's always so cold! I freeze while taking my pictures. lol

  5. I've been taking mine before work as well--there is no other time!!! And I totally hear you. I did not even sit down all weekend, got so much done . . . but not enough it feels! And yes, we had days in the upper 60s for the past few weeks. It snowed Saturday finally (not that I am really complaining) but this week--back up in the 60's! Not very Christmasy but I will take it!

  8. Complete and total agreement on the getting tons done but still feels like there's too much to do front. My office is crazy and there's several blog posts just backed up and I haven't gotten it together enough to get them done. All of the gold accents in this outfit are the perfect compliment to the black and gray. Also, your hair looks amazing!

  9. I love that cardigan - I would wear that in a heartbeat! And seeing as how I never manage to get photos with actual natural light anymore, you are leaps and bounds ahead of me.

  17. I'm in love with that jacket/cardigan--the length, the print, the neutral colors...love it. And I feel the same way about my weekend. I was busy and did a lot, but I feel like I still have SO MUCH more to do!

  19. Your cardi is gorgeous, Lydia, it looks so cosy, too!

I feel pretty much the same way every weekend. Working two jobs without break, it comes as slightly odd that I feel accomplished and unaccomplished at the same time. Ah.

  21. I really do love this fall weather in December. It's helping me be a lot more productive and get outside more--and I loove being outside! I'm sure you got a lot more done than you thought you did this weekend. Sometimes we don't realize how much we do until we write lists and step back and look at it.

Your sweater is beautiful, and your accessories are dreamy as always.

  22. Nice! Those boots are fabulous, the gift that keeps on giving.
I have not finished doing anything I am supposed to. For example, I have my two final projects for this semester due this week. I have done about 10% of them … and this is my final semester and I SHOULD graduate in March. So we'll see.

  23. That first sentence certainly describes my life lately. That is why I have been MIA. I have been so damn busy. Love your boots, necklace and earrings today. Nice cardigan too.

Oh and we have had such a mild fall and early winter too. It is chilly and very windy today though.

  24. I rarely take outfit pictures on the weekend because I normally go to workout in the morning and don't get dressed till later and then we are running around everywhere. Love this plaid cardigan on you.
