Sizers

The holidays, and the holiday parties are upon us. Time to pull out all those glittery heels that were snatched-up on clearance and may have been a half size too big.

Today I'm trying out Sizers, foam inserts designed to slip into the toes of pumps and eliminate the issue of a large gap between the foot and the end of the heel. This is something that happens to me quite frequently, as cute shoes are rarely available in wider widths, I'm forced to size up to avoid my toes being squished.

Sizers are simple to use, just slip into the toe of the shoe and wear. The package contains three different sizes, from a quarter size to a full size. I tried them out in a bunch of different shoes. Since my feet are slightly different sizes, sometimes it was helpful to use two different size inserts. They worked best in almond or round toe shoes, but didn't work well in pointy toe shoes.

As for the comfort level, they were moderately comfortable. I was hoping I would be completely unaware of them, but that was not the case. I also found that they still squished down a bit throughout the day.

Ultimately I really love the concept of this product, and for my most severe shoe gap issues I will likely wear them in conjunction with other shoe insoles.

If you'd like to give Sizers a try, they are available at Amazon if you are stateside, or at Shoesizers.com if you are across the pond.

  5. That is so handy! When shoes don't come in half sizes, I sometimes have to go up in size but then they're too big, so these sizers would be perfect!

  6. What an intriguing concept! My feet aren't actually wide - or weren't naturally wide, I suppose - but thanks to years of dance, I've developed some pretty spectacular bunions which make narrows shoes that would otherwise fit a total impossibility. I love the idea of Sizers except I think we both know I don't need an excuse to access anymore shoes ;) Love this look on you, the plaid shirt and red back are meant for each other!

  9. What a cool idea! Did you find that they added more cushion or made your shoes more comfortable? Or do they just fill up the extra space?

  10. What! Now there's a curious, though useful, invention. I actually could use a pair of those. Especially when you buy those glittery heels half on sale!

  11. I have a pair of shoes I love (from the Missoni + Target collab) but never wear for that reason, so I need to try these to see if they would help! I love this look--it looks classic meets tough meets feminine, and I love it!
