Plaid on plaid

I nearly made it to December without pulling on a pair of tights, but I ended up caving just one day. Truthfully I've just been relying heavily on my denim wardrobe lately, but I'm also happy to have the option of swapping tights for my over the knee boots on the days which aren't quite as harsh.

While it hasn't yet been terribly cold, I'm still cold all the time. No one likes to drive with me because I will have the heat blasting even if it's 54°. Yet I consistently dress as if it were 10° warmer than it actually is. Unlined leather jacket instead of wool? Check. No gloves? Check. At least I decided to throw on a scarf at the last second and quite enjoyed the mix of plaids.

  1. This behaviour sounds all too familiar to me. My tolerance for cold gets more pitiful every year that I live in Vancouver. Even at home, I'm perpetually wrapped up in a million layers. But when I go outside, well, that really depends on my mood. Generally I will wear a scarf, but I don't think I've put on gloves more than once this year and I choose my coats to suit my outfit, never the temperature. At least we look cute, right? And I have to say, I love this mix of plaids paired with your leather jacket - I feel like it wouldn't have been quite as fabulous paired with a more practical coat ;)

  2. Haha, you're definitely funny with the cold, worse than me! ;)
and I only wore tights on Thanksgiving because my skirt was a little short and I didn't want to worry about sitting, otherwise I would have been fine without them. Mild winter so far...but it hasn't even really started yet ;)

  4. Um yeah. I have a space heater on year round. I prefer my car and my house at a cool 75 and even that is a chilly compromise for me. I was born to live on a beach. But it's been fairly mild here too--I probably could do without tights on days when I just go house to car to office to car to house. Love this plaid dress on you!

  6. Way to go on making it this long before breaking out the tights! I've worn mine a few times, but I try to hold out as well. I'm usually cold too and keep my space heater going in my office year-round. Love this mix of plaids, they're so fun together!

  8. I *almost* couldn't tell the difference between the plaids they compliment each other so well.

  10. Oooh, I love all the plaid - I'm a sucker for a good plaid dress! And I know what you mean about always feeling cold; I'm constantly chilly. Which I suppose makes it even stranger that I love cold weather so much....

  13. I love how weather is always relative. At 54 degrees, we are all snuggled up with any warm and cozy - that's considered freezing for me! I love this look of the double plaid.

Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you soon!
