The fear

Halloween is tomorrow, and I thought I'd share this Time article about the things people fear in America. Oddly enough, the number one fear is corruption of government officials.

Looking at the list that was used to survey people, my biggest fears would probably be ridicule and talking to strangers.

What are yours?

  1. It's probably odd to say this, but I never associate fear with Halloween; I think it's all the polyester costumes, it's impossible to be afraid of anyone dressed in head-to-toe shiny polyester ;) That said, my biggest fear also has nothing to do with the holiday at all; I'm terrified of water and, more specifically, of tidal waves. Living on the coast, I get to live with that one year round...! But at least we get a holiday at the end of October that justifies eating lots of sweet treats while indulging our lesser fears. On a fashion-related note, I always love seeing your beautiful red Coach bag pop up in your outfits, the colour really is just so beautiful.

  2. Very thought provoking… I am terrified of natural disasters and being robbed. I have come to the conclusion that its because I am such a control freak and knowing there is not much I can do, it just terrifies me.

  4. I've always been a fan of this striped blazer! And I'm definitely afraid of talking to strangers - even on the phone. I always try to make my husband call for takeout or whenever we have to make a random call!

  6. such a great look, love the bag and shoes :) I think I am really afraid of pain and needles. Well since I'm going to be a doctor I should probably get used to needles... but I still have to really control myself whenever I need a vaccine shot or blood exam.

  7. Those results are sort of surprising...I'd have to go with spiders. Definitely spiders.

  8. The textured blazer and little black dress are so nice together! :) That is a lovely striped blazer.

I'm surprised insects didn't rate higher on that fear list - I'm terrified of spiders!
