September shopping

For the month of September I made an awful lot of purchases, though most were (more or less) practical things I needed for the apartment.

The one sartorial purchase I made was this cuff by Gorjana through Rocksbox. I've been gifted a subscription to the jewelry rental service for many months now and it's been pretty hit or miss. This cuff was a piece I'd requested, I think three times in a row before receiving it. It came along with the pendant and ring, both pieces I also really liked.

The cuff, even at the Rocksbox discounted price was $86, which was more than I'd like to spend, however the cuff wasn't available for purchase anywhere else (save for a rose gold version, $55 at present). After wearing the pieces in the set for nearly a whole month and still not wanting to send them back, I decided to just use my $20 shine spend and purchase the cuff. I'm also very tempted to keep the necklace as well, but I shouldn't, it's been an expensive month.

If you'd like to give Rocksbox a try, you can get your first month free with the code lydiaxoxo!

  1. I keep requesting the same cuff. I've been saving my shine spend as well for something perfect. It hasn't come along yet. Some months I send things right back, other months I think, "This is perfect." Yet, I cannot bring myself to keep anything. The concept keeps me coming back for month after month.

  2. I can see why you kept the cuff. It's super versatile and you will get a lot of wear from it!

  3. I love that cuff every tie I see you wear it and, well, sometimes we all deserve a little splurge on something we truly love, right? I think so ;) But then again, that's how I justify pretty much my entire shoe collection. Still, the cuff seems to go with all of your accessories and outfits so well (I think this may be my favourite combination; the gold and the soft grey blue of your blouse compliment each other perfectly) that I think it was meant to be yours, even if you did have to wait and wait and wait for it to finally come to you ;)

  4. If you love it that much it was definitely worth it to keep! Besides, the cost/wear will go down a lot since you wear it a lot! The necklace is fun too, but I don't think you necessarily need it :)

  6. I have to admit that the zig zag bracelet is a beautiful piece but, the price tag was a bit high. You've seen my purchases… BUT the again IF you really loved it, continue wearing it and get your money's worth.

  8. I love the cuff! I only wish my wrist wasn't so scrawny so that I could wear it too. I usually request Gorjana necklaces or earrings in my rocksbox. It's so hard to not buy everything in my Rocksbox...I usually end up buying at least one thing.

  9. The cuff is lovely, and I'm glad you finally got it after requesting it so many times! Hoorah! As you wear it (which I know you will, being a wearer of many gold bracelets) the cost per wear should go down and you'll feel much better about it, I am sure. <3

  10. Oh how I feel you. We have just moved and I haven't done any shopping from July until now. we finally have the bigger expenses for the apartment out of the way and I can't wait to hit the shops soon. My wardrobe needs an update! :) I love the jewelry you picked out. The basic outfit really makes the pieces pop! xo

  11. I love the simplicity of this look! The top adds a bit of texture and I LOVE a white jean. I would wear white jeans all year round! The accessories are simple and don't take away from the look, they just accent it, which is what they are meant to do right? ;) The skinny jean looks great on you! I'm re-launching my blog next week and I have a post coming up all about denim! Great look, babe!

  14. Such a cool bracelet. It's one that is classic enough to wear daily but a little funky too. I tried rocksbox too and didn't love it.

  17. At least you know it's something you'll wear a ton, which makes the purchase completely justified! Nothing is worse than spending that kind of money and finding that you don't wear it very often. (I actually stopped my complimentary Rocksbox subscription. I wasn't happy with anything I received. Haha.)

I'm about to pull the trigger on a new dining table and chairs, which will make the month a very expensive one! I always feel so guilty about home purchases for some reason, even though it's worth the investment. (We're using Dave's parents' old set now, which is super outdated.)

Anyway, you look so pretty in these photos. I love the fresh color combo of blue and white in the fall.

  18. Ooh I love these colors--the black and smoky blue really bring your white jeans into fall! Glad you went for the cuff--sometimes you just have to go for it when you KNOW you love something and will wear the heck out of it. Good luck with all the new home decorating!
