Add a little fur

This fur collar is one of my favorite thrift finds because I can throw it on to any coat, jacket or even cardigan and it instantly becomes so much more luxe and cozy. It is a perfect fit on this trench, and therefore one of my favorite coats to pin it to, though it has graced the lapels of nearly every coat I own, and done so with ease.

Of course you can easily pick up a new faux fur collar, though I've always found them to be abundance in thrift stores this time of year. I even spotted a grey one the other day, which I'm contemplating going back for.

I can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that there are only two weeks until Christmas. I feel like I've gotten nothing done; tree isn't up, cookies haven't been baked, cards haven't been mailed, gifts haven't been wrapped - though due in part to my online shopping I've at least put a sizable dent in the gifts I need to purchase. Of course the longer my to-do list becomes, the more I just want to ignore it in favor of cozying up on the couch with some hot chocolate and a Christmas movie.

I have wrapped most of my gifts and the decorations are up, but I haven't made any tasty cookies yet!

  8. I love this look Lydia. A fur collar is such an investment piece. I haven't bought one gift, made one cookie or even put up one decoration. I guess I thrive on tight deadlines : )

  9. Camel and grey look so lux together.
I think you look marvellous !
We bought our tree last night, hopefully will be putting it up today.

  10. Yep, I am right there with you! I don't have my tree up, I haven't baked anything and I haven't mailed a card yet. And I have almost all my shopping done! So it seems that I should be a lot further along than this . . .

I LOVE your fur collar. It is a great piece that adds instant glam. I have one too in white ostrich feathers that I like to add to coats sometimes. I tend to get a little nervous wearing fur sometimes because I'm always afraid someone will throw paint on me! It's irrational but it's true.

  14. Same here... no tree yet! I am not good at baking and rather have my mum's homemade cookies ;-)

Love the fur collar and it is such a stylish option to pimp any coat!

  25. Sigh. I know exactly how you feel about Christmas this year. Normally I'm so organised. This year... well, the tree is up. The decorating was done half-heartedly at best and that's about as far as I've gotten. I still have so many presents to buy, and the closer the holiday gets, the more I find myself avoiding shopping to avoid dealing with how behind I am. Oh well. At least we're wearing cute winter outfits :) I have to say, I still have no problem shopping for myself. I've had my eye on a camel coat for a while now and I think this outfit has convinced me to take the plunge. I never would have guessed how great camel could look with grey, but now that I know, I need to get on the bandwagon!

PS: I love your fur collar. And I'm sure I would love a grey one even more. I think you need it ;)

  27. I did pretty good getting things done early this year for Christmas. Although, I get most things online and it is taking FOREVER for the shipping. I really like the tan, gray, and cranberry combo. When you said you thrifted the fur stole, I imagined the old-fashioned fox stoles with the heads still attached and the tails inserted in the mouths. LOL!

  28. I know, I can't believe Christmas is so soon. I've barely done anything to prepare and I'm hardly in the spirit of things!

  29. What an amazing fur collar! I am so behind with Christmas shopping. I've been slowly checking off the relatives, and sadly leaving my family till last!
