A change in color

While many of the trees in my area are reluctant to transition, slowly but surely the yellows, oranges, and reds emerge. I've noticed a change in my color pallet as well, reaching now for greys and blacks over the more brilliant shades. At least I've taken one cue from the autumnal color shift and brought out the red Coach bag.

I'm trying not to fall into the habit of always reaching for darker neutrals come fall, but if my recent purchases are any indication, I'm clearly not doing well. I think ultimately, there is no point in trying to force something, I want to wear what makes me feel the most comfortable and happy on any given day. Somedays that might be chiffon pleats, others a cozy grey sweatshirt.

  1. I am trying to stay away from dark Fall colors by adding more bright colors but I'm not doing a really good job of it. Oh well!! You look lovely as usual, love the leopard belt.

  18. Reaching for darker clothes is unconscious for me as the weather changes. It's almost like I forget I have brighter color clothing! Darker colors are still lovely though!

  28. I think as bloggers we often fall into the trap of seeing so much inspiration that it clouds our rational thinking when it comes to how we dress. We tell ourselves we should do more of things because we see others doing them, even if those things aren't neccessarily what will make us most comfortable and happy. It's a constant struggle. But at the end of the day, you're absolutely right - there's no point in forcing yourself into a style that doesn't feel like you. And personally, I've been loving your neutral looks, especially because you always seem to add a lovely pop of colour, like your red handbag here, which is one of my favourites in your collection.
