Woven/Printed

This dress has been hanging around since March. It's another one from OASAP, and true to form, had all kinds of fit issues. To wear this dress, your bust, waist and hips would all need to be the same measurement.

I will say that aside from the cut, this jacquard dress is actually of decent quality. The material is very thick and in addition to the jacquard inspired print, the material is woven with a jacquard pattern. Its partially lined and pretty well constructed.

Because of those factors and how much I loved the print, I decided to put in the effort to take in the waist, give this dress some actual shape, and finally wear it!

To those of you who celebrate, I hope you have a happy Memorial Day!

  1. That's a bummer about the fit because it's a really cute dress - looks like a great summer piece.

  4. That stinks that the fit was way off but I'm glad you decided to tailor it. The bright colors are so pretty for summer!

  7. That OASAP... The cut of their clothes is enough to drive a sane person crazy. If the pieces aren't crazy short (and this is coming from me, who is all of 5'2"), then the cut is straight from top to bottom. At least in this case that meant you were able to take the waist in... instead of needing to let other parts out (silver lining?) because the dress really does have a lovely print and the colours suit you beautifully.

My seamstress became my best friend... in terms of how often I see her to alter what I bought.

  14. That is a fun dress! I can see why it'd be hard to get out and style in a plethora of different ways, though. There are some dresses like that. But with the bag and jean jacket, you definitely make it casual!

Have a great rest of your week, my sweet Lydia!

  24. You look beautiful in that dress and I'm impressed with your commitment to it. I received one piece from Oasap way back before there were many reviews and it was so shoddy that I refused to post it. It's a shame the material wasn't as great as yours was. That would have been more incentive to have it tailored.
