Lunch Date

Not having a job to get dressed for has made it quite easy for me to slip into a habit of denim and weekend wear seven days a week.

Having a lunch date at a french restaurant in New Haven is enough of a reason to swap the jeans for a curve hugging black skirt. Who cares if every other patron in the restaurant was in denim? It's a great way to start the week.

  11. Agreed! You look GREAT in this look Lydia! I am sure it is nice to break out of the denim once in a while. I have tried to stay out of my maternity slump I've been in. I REALLY miss my skirts. And my waist. This pale pink looks great with the leopard coat!

  12. Woop woop! Bonus points to you for dressing up. I love the combo of that dusty pink and the black skirt. You are lookin' like a babe here, lady! I'm joining Alissa and whistling at you through the internet (in a respectful way, of course). GIRL THAT IS YOUR COLOR!

  14. You're absolutely right - it is so easy to slip into a daily denim (or worse, pajamas) routine when you're not going to an office on a daily basis. Good for you for getting dressed up just because! And you really did knock it out of the park with this outfit, I love the combination of feminine, romantic pieces from your sweater, skirt and necklace with the edginess of studded booties and a leopard coat.

  15. This is the perfect outfit for a lunch date! Sometimes, it's so necessary to bust out the curve hugging skirt rather than jeans.

  24. There's always reason to dress up. You prove it in this post just lovely. I work a lot from home and it's easy slip in casual looks. But it's always much more fun to dress up even casual jeans.

  37. WOW you look Gorgeous, Lydia. Definitely one of your best Outfits this Spring. =)

I agree a great way to start the day and week, even if it is just a lunch. I too dressed up for a lunch date with my husband recently (that is the current outfit on the blog, from yesterday). I love that skirt and the color of your sweater. Pretty, dainty bracelets and your makeup looks flawless. Gotta give this a try with my Tulip Skirt from Bebe. =)
