Emerald dress look for less and a $200 Giveaway!

When I shop, I want to make sure I am getting the best deal for my money. I hunt down expensive pieces like this J.Crew blazer on ebay, where I got it for $30. I take advantage of coupon codes which I used on top of a sale price to get this emerald shirt dress for a steal from Piperlime, and I search for inexpensive pieces like this leopard clutch I purchased from the Gap for $35 which looks like the pricy Clair Viver clutch.

Even with my best thrifty efforts, sometimes it's easy to get carried away and go over budget, which is when a prepaid debt card like H&R Block's new Emerald Prepaid Debit Mastercard would be a big help. It has all the great benefits of a credit card and a debit card, with features like instant cash reward offers, ATM cash withdrawal and cash back with a purchase. Because the Emerald Card is prepaid, you can't spend more then you have - its like cash but better, as you can make purchases both online and in stores, plus you are protected against theft and fraud.

To help everyone be a more savvy shopper, I've teamed up with H&R Block, and I'm showing you how you can put together a look with a stunning emerald dress like mine for under $150, then offering you a chance to win a $200 prepaid Emerald Card of your own! Just leave a comment sharing what you'll spend the Emerald Card on, or any budget fashion tips you have, then enter with the rafflecopter below.

For even more emerald inspiration, check out my pinterest board in collaboration with H&R Block!

  6. I would spend it on some new shoes for spring/summer-- I've been wanting a pair of slide on tennis shoes (I love the leopard ones I've seen Shanna Said So wearing) and a new pair of sandals.

I definitely shop sales when I'm looking for new items. I use Before I Shop so I can always see what sales are going on for my favorite stores.

As for what I'd spend the money on...perhaps a great new spring dress in a fun print!
And budget tips - NEVER pay full price, always shop the sale section. Even in Marshalls and TJ Maxx :)

  29. What a shame I don't have a US address, because I know exactly what I'd use an Emerald Card for - it seems a bit unbelievable that after being in Paris and shopping to my heart's content, I might still need something new but... because there is always a but... the one thing I didn't find that I had really hoped for was a perfect denim jacket. It's one of those spring/summer essentials that has been on my list forever but I just can't find the perfect one, and seeing your chambray blazer in this post reminded me of it again. If I had a bit of money leftover, I'd probably go on a hunt for that leopard clutch of yours. I love it more every time you wear it!

I'm a firm believer in mixing high & low price items for a total 'put together' look. I love using shopstyle.com to compare prices on a particular item, to make sure I'm getting the best price. Ebay is great (I use a lot!) to find items that may be sold old and you can save a lot of cash. I also like online shopping sites such as ASOS, Zara, LuLus, etc to find current trendy pieces at great prices. I've also heard great things about sheinside.com, but haven't purchased from them before.
