Gingham agian

I was invited by eShakti to try one of their new fall styles, and perhaps predictably, decided on a brown and white gingham fit and flare dress.

As eShakti allows for complete customization of their entire product line, I was able to put in all my measurements to get a dress that should have been a perfect fit.

This is not my first time working with eShakti, this past spring I selected a different gingham fit and flare and found it was too tight in the chest. Learning from that, I increased that measurement by one inch. Unfortunately this dress is far too large in the waist.

It's possible I don't know how to properly take measurements, but I'm a little disappointed I've not been able to get a properly fitting dress. Especially since I really like this dress. It's adorable and the material is a soft cozy flannel and so perfect for fall.

Though I suppose given the extra girth of the dress, it will be perfect to wear on Thanksgiving.

  2. I got two dresses from them last spring, neither of which fit right, at least I didn't pay for them, but I was totally disappointed.

  3. OOOH I picked a skirt and I cannot wait to see what it looks like. I really hope the proportions come out right for me because I feel like everything is always short on me!

  7. Oh it's unfortunate that the sizing still was a little off. It does still look cute on you though!

  14. Pretty dress, it doesn't look big on you the belt probably hides the extra material. You look super cute. I'd love to try one of their dresses.

  16. That is a bummer that the dress didn't fit right. The last time I ordered from eShakti I used my own measurements and the dress was so tiny it could've fit a 5 year old!

  18. What a shame that this dress wasn't the perfect fit that it could have been. I find the bust line in dresses to be such a challenge and obviously I'm not the only one. Although I must say, you look fabulous in this dress in spite of the inexact proportions - and the way you styled it is just fabulous, the navy of your blazer really brings out the brown tones in your dress and bag.

  22. It's a really cute dress though! Even though it sucks that the waist is too big I think you should get it taken in so you can keep wearing it! I love the fit and flare dresses!

  34. Good point about this dress being a great thing to wear about Thanksgiving... that would totally be me needing extra room after a crazy meal like that.

I do love the pattern. Will let you know how my custom dress comes out.

  35. That gingham dress is so pretty and a little throwback to the 50s. I love your retro Mary Janes with it, too. Also, great blazer and that Necklace (that I am hoping to win from a current give-away) is so, so pretty.
