New shoes

I always seem to choose the most overcast days to wear this ridiculously bright orange color, which never actually photographs orange, but rather red, and there is nothing I can seem to do about it.

I picked up these brown sandals at TJMaxx over the weekend, since both pairs of brown sandals I currently own are a few years old and really showing signs of wear. They were on clearance and marked down twice, to the final price of $20. How could I not?

Piña

Had to have this golden pineapple tee. It was way too expensive for a tee shirt ($30), but I'd been pining after it for months and hoping it would go on sale. When it was the only one left, I decided to just get it anyway!

Kickback

The summer is over half over, and I still haven't gone on, or planned any vacation. Is there still hope, or am I destined to be blogging work looks through September?

I would really like to go to Cape Cod, I have a dress I've been saving. I know, it's so silly to save clothes, but I bet it's something we are all a little guilty of!

On my own

My wireless shutter remote for my camera hadn't been working very well all year. I felt like such an idiot, standing there pressing the button with no photo being taken, so for the past several months I've had family members helping me out and being my photographer most of the time.

It finally occurred to me that in the last three years, I've never replaced the battery in the remote. I ordered a new one, and of course, it's working perfectly now.

Only now I've gotten so accustomed to having a photographer, it's not as easy to be on my own again.

Caught in the wind

During a heatwave, a light, floaty dress is the best thing to wear. I know a lot of people complained about it, but I enjoyed it. Especially the evenings. Is there any better feeling than being out at 9 pm and having it be 85° out? I definitely prefer it to the rain and thunderstorms.

Neon dress challenge

I thought a neon dress would be a really fun piece to wear in the summer, so when OASAP gave me an opportunity to select something, I was drawn right to it.

But unless this is your first time at my blog, you may have noticed it's not me wearing it. Despite the measurements listed on the product page, this dress was much too small for me, so I offered it up to my little sister, and she agreed to model it.

The site describes this dress as a size small/medium, but I would call it extra small, and it is the only size offered. It's also a bit see-through, which did prove to be a challenge.

Fortunately the other item I received from OASAP, the bow bracelet, fits just fine.

Fuhgetaboutit

I dream about owning a boat. A sailboat, would be my top choice. I'd have to learn how to sail of course, but the issue I'm most concerned about is what I would name it. Should I choose a female name associated with water like, "Amphitrite"? Or perhaps a fun pun like, "Sail la vie"? A name that speaks to the reason I have a boat like, "My Escape"?

I think I'd choose a funny one. Those are always the most amusing to look at.

A little bit rusty

For some reason I was feeling stuck as to what color I should pair with this animal print skirt.
I've done the obvious olive green, and cream. My next move was going to be brown, but I thought, "Come on now, I can do better than brown."
So we have rust.

What colors would you pair with this skirt?

Striped pants

I am quite certain that these pants pre-date the blog. I'm also reasonably certain they have only appeared on the blog just once. And interestingly enough, I also saw a nearly identical pair when I was in Macy's the other day.

Admittedly, the fit is a little off and I should probably let them go, rather allowing them to occupy valuable closet space year after year, wearing them once each summer. Yet there always seems to be that one day when I want to wear some loose, light pants, and when I do, there they are.
