All about the stripes

I have this theory that in order to do casual wear in a cute way, you must wear stripes. They have a magical power to make boyfriend denim and a grandpa cardigan look youthful and fun.

Yes, heels and a pile of accessories help too, but the stripes are still carrying the look as far as I'm concerned.

In other news, my bronze band from Upper Metal Class got lost while I was grocery shopping the other week, so this is the last post it will ever be seen in.

I'm really not one of those people who loses/misplaces things, and the fact that it was kind of expensive and I barely had it for two weeks makes me particularly peeved. At the very least, I hope someone found it and is giving it a good home.

  6. Oh no!! I'm so sorry that you lost your ring, Lyddie. It was such a stunner, too. It makes you wonder how things come off you so easily when you think they're all nice and secured--and usually by the time you notice it, you have no idea where it would be. Maybe next time you go grocery shopping you can just try to ask someone if they picked up a pretty bronze ring? Surely someone would notice something like that and pick it up. It wouldn't hurt to try.

Stripes are quite magical, and you are definitely rocking them here. I love the red and green together!

  8. Oh noooooooooooo!!! I hate that! I lost one of my favorite earrings this past weekend (I don't usually lose things either) and I was so bummed! I hope that it found its way into good hands at least. Did you call the store to see if someone put it in the lost and found?

I agree with you on the stripes. They are workin this outfit and of course, your cherry shoes! I love those things!!!!

  9. That's a bummer about your ring! The best thing about stripes is they can be dressed up or down. Best print ever (right behind leopard)! Heather

  10. Great job with the stripes and I totally want your satchel.

I know how you feel about losing things and being completely peeved. I lost my fave headband recently and I am overly annoyed by that because I never lose anything!

  15. I pretty much wear stripes every weekend because they are awesome! And those shoes just make me happy! Sorry about the ring :-( I have horrible luck with rings. I've lost every one I've owned. Which is why I just don't bother with rings any more. Except my wedding rings *knock on wood* I haven't lost them yet!

  23. Hi Lyddie,
I totally agree with you about stripes .. they just scream relax!
Sorry that you lost your band - I went through a time where I lost a few rings in quick succession and I'm not the kinda girl to misplace things either.

    Wishing you a stunning week

  26. Ugh. That's the worst. I just bought a thin ring on Etsy from this shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/tinysparklestudio

It's not bronze, but it's just as dainty. After shipping, I think it was $14.50.

  31. Those little rings are the hardest things to keep track of... I lost one on the subway once, but it didn't roll far so I was able to retrieve it.
