Ikant

I know I have a problem with prints. I fall for one, and then just become obsessed. It happened with stripes, it happened with leopard, and now it has clearly happened with ikat.

I tried not to buy these shorts at Loft the other day, I really did. I told myself I'd just gotten two ikat print dresses. I rationalized that I already had a pair of ikat shorts for this summer, but peer pressure and my favorite sign in the whole world (Extra 50% off sale!) caused me to break down and purchase them.

Spending $17.49 on a pair of cute shorts I don't need is hardly the worst shopping budget blunder I've ever committed.

But really, don't let me purchase anymore ikat print this summer, okay?

it's okay to fall in love with a print, especially a kind this fabulous that looks so darn perfect on you! These are totally prints that work like stripes--you can wear them aaaalll the time! No guilt. ;) If it makes you feel any better, I bought a polka dot dress recently that looks exactly the same print as a polka dot top I have. POLKA DOTS.

But this is such a soft and breezy look~ like some fresh air oooh~ I like the pale yellow against those shorts, and your gold ring is sort of perfect. :D

PS) I totally knew you'd comment about that anchor belt. You nautical thing, you! :D

I know where you are coming from but you are not the only one guilty! I guess most women fall under that category! Moreover, those shorts are beautiful, the color, the print, the fabric- ideal for summer! You look gorgeous in them! So don't worry, be happy!

I love this outfit on you and I cannot go into Ann Taylor Loft without buying at least one thing so don't feel bad!

Love this look, it's such a summery and breezy color combination! And honestly, not getting this amazing pair of shorts for 50% off would be a far greater crime than owning a few of the same print! If you know you love it, I say go for it! I have a hard time finding prints I love, so I would always advocate for snapping them up when you see something you know you'll wear!

Your title cracks me up--very clever. And I know too well what you mean. When shopping with my friend those very shorts caught my eye at Loft. I'm on a mission not to buy anything this month, but it's so hard to resist great deals and cute stuff! They look great on you too!

Promise I'll try not to let you get any more ikat shorts. I do like these, and they're different enough from your other ones.

I should have worn shorts and a blazer today! I'm always missing shorts and a blazer weather, ugh.

Oh man, I feel you on that one. Recently ikat and batik have both had their metaphorical claws in my metaphorical heart. Just remix the ikat pieces you currently have a lot so that we can all enjoy them, especially if the color combinations are all as punchy as this is.

Daniela said...

really , really love these! When I saw them on your instagram I immediately logged onto loft to look for them but they didn't have them online

I love the yellow paired with the turquoise! Also I think I may be a little late to hop on the bandwagon.. but I can feel the inklings of my own obsession with ikat beginning.

(Also, I sat around tonight for way too long trying to think of a quippy title using 'ikat'... to no avail. Wayyy to show me up big time ;)

Totally worth the money! Don't buy anymore, but totally worth it! Your outfit is so summery I'm jealous.

I walked into Banana R this weekend and saw a pair of ikat shorts and thought you'd probably buy them - they were awesome but kinda short.
Really like the colors here..

I am so similar to you! I get obsessed with a pattern and than that's it, I wear it constantly until I get sick of it for a while. I love these Ikat shorts - they looks gorgeous on you! I really love this print x

I think those shorts were an excellent impulse buy! I bought two pairs of shorts from Loft a few weeks ago for about the same price, and now I think I need to go back and look for an ikat pair as well :)
