Dockside

This past weekend my Brother came to visit, so I got him to take my outfit photos on Saturday. It's so nice to have a competent photographer (no offense to my temporary make-shift photographers, but it helps if you know what exposure means). Anyway, I still need to work on gettin' one of those full time.

We walked down to the docks by The Lobster Shack. People rave about this place. The other day I was stuck behind a car going two miles an hour with out of state plates and my Sister says, "They are looking for the damn Lobster Shack. I guarantee they are." Sure enough, they spotted the sign and turned in. I don't get the allure of a food cart in a boat yard, but to each their own.

The other highlight of the day was getting to see my friend Bethany, who I've known since before I could talk, but we've had a lot of distance between us for the last 15 years. She moved back to Connecticut last month, and I definitely hoping we will be seeing a lot more of one another!

And you should definitely go visit her at her blog, More Fruit Please!

  3. Ooh, and he's a real photographer, too! How fun! These are lovely, although I've gotta say: you do a great job at photographing yourself, too. I know how difficult it is.

  9. These photos are great!

I really like the first one. That's a fun angle.

And I'm totally jealous of all that wonderfully thick hair! I'm sure it drives you batty sometimes, but it is a beautiful thing - especially in the breeze!

  10. Love your brother's photos. I am always so so so grateful when I'm with my sister and she can take mine. It is somehow so much less humiliating than setting up a tripod and taking my own!
And, cheers to your friend's return! That's wonderful!

  16. Some of the most delicious foods come from carts/trucks, etc. Anything with "lobster" in the name sparks my interest. Mail me some?

  18. It is so important to have someone around at all times to capture the important fashion moments in your life.
This is why I travel with an entourage.
And by entourage, I mean Mr. A.
    And a camera.

  41. Yay you got a friend to pose with you! Sometimes I wish I had a competent photographer too, I'm sure my photos would come out so good. You look very modern and 1950s-inspired at the same time... this outfit reminds me of photos I once saw of Marilyn Monroe in high waisted shorts and a blouse tied like that!
