Wasted daylight

Today is the first day of Daylight Savings Time, where we push the clocks ahead and enjoy an extra hour of sunlight each night. I didn't do anything to take advantage of this today, didn't even watch the sunset since I was out shopping with my Mom at the time trying to help her find a dress for my Sister-in-law-to-be's Shower next weekend. We were successful, and I didn't buy anything for myself in that store.

I did however, decide that the dress I need to wear to the Shower is the Feather Dress from Urban Outfitters.

The weather might almost be moving into the spring, with 50°s in the forecast for the week, though my color pallet today is decidedly autumn.

Having missed out on an hour of sleep, I'm already craving my pillow, and I have to confess, I'm feeling nervous about this week. I have no outfits planned or photos taken for the first time in 19 weeks. While I wont miss the chaotic scramble over the weekend, it was awfully nice knowing everything was planned and done. (Not that I couldn't continue planning my outfits all out ahead of time, but without the absolute need to, the laziness will has surfaced.)

In other shopping news, the Target designer dress re-release was today; did anyone go out and buy one? I've got my eye on the lace print Rodarte, but I keep telling myself "willpower Lyddie, willpower!"

  2. I love the color combination--I never would have thought of putting those colors together. That's one reason I love your blog . . . I get such great ideas I can use myself. And I didn't even know about the Target re-release--thanks for the tip. (P.S. Love your puppy! What's his/her name?)

  3. Love this outfit!!! I'm wearing something similar-ish tomorrow XD That lace dress is soooo pretty!!

and I was VERY bad and ordered 5 target dresses this morning, but 1 is for my sister, 1 is one we might share and then the other 3 I will probably only keep one. I just ordered a bunch to make sure I would be able to have one...so I have to hope that they aren't all gorgeous XD *long rant over*

  6. Wish I could get away with such a beautiful bold berry shade. It clashes too much with my hair!

  10. That Urban Outfitters dress is so pretty! I meant to try to make it to a Target today but things just got totally away from me. I'm thinking of moving and was able to get some showing today so everything just sort of took second seat to that.

  11. Love the colors in this outfit! Also, the leaf on your dog is adorable.

I actually picked up the Rodarte lace dress and am loving it. I sized up though because my regular size was a little short for my taste. And I love the feather dress that you're planning on wearing. Can't wait to see it.

  17. I was at a Target picking up some DayQuil to fight this super cold I have and couldn't help but lust over a Libertine dress that I had never seen before then I sniffled (from the cold not sadness) and left. I def don't need another black dress even if it has a gorgeous vintage-esque collar and pockets...

  19. I'm trying to have willpower, so I avoided Target today. They have a lot of cute dresses, but I'm not sure if I want to pay $40-ish for a Target dress right now.

  32. I think your colors are actually springish (or at least on trend with neutrals and brights). I am so happy that it's actually light out at 6pm now... get to take some good photos after work for the next few months!
