10 Second timer dash (and other stupid ideas)

Today I wasn't home. I've been dog sitting and I brought my camera but left my tripod and remote at home. Which was silly. Rather than being sensible and taking photos inside or (dare I even say it) skipping outfit photos; I decided I should just go take some outside.
Small issue: snow. Lots of it. Like two feet, and not even the porch was shoveled. I didn't bring my snow boots, just my small pointy toed heeled brown boots. Which I shoveled in. Bad idea. My feet froze and I ruined the boots, the heels are pretty much destroyed - the nails are exposed and the material covering them peeled off. They were old (like 2005), so I guess it isn't the biggest loss, but it was still a dumb thing to do.

Then there is the part about not having a remote and having to run through the 'path' I shoveled. Probably the most treacherous 10 second timer dash ever.

But I'm just too strangely dedicated to this outfit photo taking, so I did it. Maybe someday I'll feel my toes again.

Anyway, here are a couple of photos of the dogs I'm watching. They are really tiny poodles.

Romie

We get along pretty well as long as they aren't trying to steal my pillow. Maybe they get away with that when their Mommy is home, but I certainly do not want their doggy bums where I put my face.

  6. Aww, what cute dogs! And I love the photo dash. That's how I feel when I take outside shots, since I don't have anything cool like a tripod or remote. I'm sure my neighbors get a good laugh out of it :)

I love the lace pattern on the shirt you're wearing - it's so pretty!

It's sooo cold here I can't take photos outside, unless you want to see me in a parka :S

  11. Awwwww. Those are such good puppies to be watching. And the pictures are fun! I admire your dedication. I don't think I would have been able to do all that for my photos. I probably would have had to stay inside crying that I ruined my boots....

  38. I think a good shoe repair place can fix the heels on your boots - even the heel coverings. I had a similarly wrecked pair.

  39. If it's any consolation, your efforts paid off. That ten second dash is priceless! Cute images of the doggies!

  40. Man I though I had it bad... that is a lot of snow. Maybe a cobbler can repair the heels? I totally know how you feel, I can't believe I ever used a timer during the winter-- I don't know how I did it. Less bokeh of course, but I think your photos look as lovely as ever!

  41. I think we are in the same boat regarding outfit photos. Some days I can be very very silly and try to take outfit photos even when it is -30 degrees out in my pretty platform sandals. There is nothing else to do really, it's either brave the cold or take photos inside my apartment with bad lighting.

I love your photos ...every single one of them shows your determination and how much you love it. Plus photos in the snow when you can brave it turn out gorgeous.

On another note....how cute are those poochies. :)

    Love
